| Greetings Quilters Now that the weather is becoming cooler and the fall season is officially here, it is time to start the quilting projects that have been put off because of all the summer activities. The gardens are slowing down their production and the flowers are fading away. I really hate to say it but the holidays will soon be upon us. The bus trip was fantastic. I want to thank Wilsene and Dianne, her helper, for putting it together. The quilts were beautiful and really looking like fiber art. As always the merchants mall was great with all sorts of goodies to buy. Everyone was a little bit tired on the way home especially after dinner. Paula held a very fascinating workshop on the technique of making fabric art postcards. This little card can be made and sent to friends, family, quilters and grandchildren. It is fun making the card and this little piece of art gives you the opportunity to try different techniques on a smaller scale. You can make them for yourself as a sample of techniques. Don’t forget your Secret Pal. It is wonderful to see all those nicely wrapped gifts being handed out at each meeting. I am sure the person receiving the gift is trying to figure out who their Secret Pal could be. Sorry you will just have to wait until next year. I just have to tell everyone!! Our own Denise Rudolph had her Hoffman Challenge Quilt accepted to travel for a year with exhibit “D”. When you see Denise give her a high five. Yippee!!! We have a new President-elect. Andrea Fountain was nominated and voted into office at the September meeting. Thank You so much Andrea. Don’t forget to signup for the October workshops with Linda Cantrell. Linda will be doing a neat workshop on Friday, “Still Life with Bottles” and on Saturday, Fantasy Flowers”. This looks like a fun way to do appliqué in an art form. Keep the fabric flying and the machines buzzing until next time. Connie “B” |
